TSMA President's letter - Spring 2025

Greetings to TSMA members, associates, and friends!

I hope you can hear me above all the political noise and hysterics about tariffs, trade policies, and increased production costs going on right now. There’s a lot of unknowns and we’ve never seen anything quite like this so it can be overwhelming at times. Let me assure you that TSMA is here today and will continue to be here to help you through whatever lies ahead.

Regardless of what’s happening politically there’s a lot happening with TSMA this Spring.

Make plans to join us at the TSMA luncheon meeting on May 20 in Litchfield. We will gather at the Muddy Cow for a brief meeting, and presentation, followed by a tour of Felling Trailers. The speaker and presentation will be announced soon. Register now.

It’s time to start thinking green – the 32nd annual TSMA Golf Social is scheduled for July 16 at Geneva Golf Club in Alexandria. We sold out the tournament last year and it is filling up this year already. Pull together a team and register soon! Sponsorship opportunities are still available. Contact Katie.

The TSMA Manufacturing Career Dream Team has been active all winter and just added four new members. Check out the update from coordinator Therese Serum.

We are very excited to welcome four new members to TSMA: BTD Manufacturing, Farm & Industrial Supply, Manpower of Greater MN, and Victoria Fide Consulting. See more details in the New Member section of the newsletter.

MMA has a lineup of educational offerings coming up in April and May. (See Events section of newsletter) Take advantage of all these free offerings, encourage your staff to attend, and register now.

Be sure to check out the feature on TSMA Board member Sean Johns, Dean of Educational Services at Alexandria Technical and Community College.

As we look ahead to fall TSMA is looking for speakers, manufacturer tours, and sponsors for upcoming meetings. Please contact Carolyn with your ideas and contacts.

I would also like to encourage your registration and participation in all our upcoming events. We are here to help you succeed, but we need your help and your participation for us to continue to succeed!

There’s no doubt the future for manufacturers is going to be interesting in our political climate. We are here for you all regardless of smooth sailing or stormy waters. We’re in this together! We’re stronger together!

See you at the meeting on May 20.

Warm regards,
Phil Johnson
TSMA President
