MN House and Senate candidates invited to address manufacturing issues

New this year, TSMA is undertaking a project that will help gauge the extent to which area candidates are pro-manufacturing. Candidates running for a seat in the MN House or the MN Senate will be asked to respond in writing to a series of questions. Watch your email for an announcement (likely in October) on how to access the responses we receive. In keeping with the location of the current TSMA membership, candidates from eleven senate and house districts in Central Minnesota will be included.
The Government Affairs Committee drafted the following questionnaire.
  1. What action will you take to support manufacturing jobs in Minnesota?
  2. Do you agree that Minnesota should adopt full conformity to federal Section 179 business expensing?
  3. What have you done, or what will you do, to connect with manufacturers in your district?
  4. Should Minnesota adopt term limits for legislators?
  5. Will you support legislation that protects small businesses from lawsuits related to COVID-19?
  6. Do you support a face mask mandate in a manufacturing environment where social distancing is enforced?
If you’d like to suggest additional questions, contact the office.
