The TSMA Dream Team is connecting with youth this school year in the TSMA area. They are starting off by having a booth and leading breakout sessions that focus on all the careers and educational paths in manufacturing at the Alexandria Area High School ninth grade career fair. The Dream Team initiative this year, as suggested by the TSMA board, is to get representation to the younger grades, too. This career fair fits perfectly with this initiative. We are also working on having a booth at other career fairs in the area. In addition, work has started on scheduling the Dream Team to present at schools.

We are excited to announce that we have a new career Dream Team member: John Zipoy, from  Brenton Engineering. John stated, “Growing up, I would enjoy playing with Lincoln logs. Even though you were playing with the same ten or so pieces, there was never an identical building if you were creative enough. I was pretty good at math growing up, too. The puzzle of solving problems by learning different systems and logic was fun and entertaining. Being able to solve a problem one way and then learning of a different or even better way was always fascinating to me. This ties in so well with my career in manufacturing at Brenton. I have always wanted to be able to make the world a better place than how it was when I found it. That is my goal in life and in my career.”
